Arts & Culture

The South Kootenay may be best known for big adventures, but there’s plenty happening off the trails, too. In Rossland, the Rossland Council for Arts & Culture keeps creativity flowing with year-round programming, while local artists fill shops with paintings, pottery, jewellery and other treasures. Down the hill in Trail, the historic Bailey Theatre is the region’s stage for concerts, theatre, comedy and more, while VISAC Gallery showcases emerging and established Kootenay artists and offers workshops in everything from pottery to visual arts. The Trail Museum & Archives adds a dose of local history, and across Beaver Valley and the surrounding communities, markets, festivals, workshops and events keep things creative.

From gold-rush tales to contemporary art, live music to local history, the South Kootenay has plenty of stories to tell—and plenty of ways to experience them.

Live. Local. Legendary.
