Located in Southeastern British Columbia along the Canada USA border, the South Kootenay is where naturalists and friends of the outdoors escape urban sprawl. The mighty Columbia River traverses the heart of the South Kootenay where the Monashee Mountain range meets the Selkirk Mountain range.

Nestled in this environment are the cities and villages of Trail, Rossland, Fruitvale, Monrtose, Warfield and the rural areas A & B. In our communities lifestyle is cherished and "community" means friends, family and civic pride. Four Season Playground

Sports and recreation are central to our lifestyle and complimented by our natural environment. The cities of Trail and Rossland are located 9 kilometers apart, but have an elevation change of 2,040' creating two unique climatic zones. Ski, hike, mountain bike and enjoy alpine wildflowers and panoramic vistas in the high alpine city above, then swim, kayak, fish and tour the local winery in the valley below.
