The international Graduates category of the BC PNP will assist employers in recruiting international students/graduates who are studying in British Columbia. This category allows employers to recruit graduates where there are Canadian skill shortages and/or to enable economic growth.
- The program is employer driven.
- Graduates must be hired for an occupation eligible for the PNP Skilled Worker classification, however graduates do not require work experience.
- An applicant must have completed or be close to completing their degree and have a guaranteed job offer from a BC employer before applying.
- A post-secondary institution may also recommend students with outstanding levels of academic achievement, for a provisional nomination, if a guaranteed employment offer is not secured.
- In all cases a guaranteed employment offer must be secured before an international student becomes a provincial nominee.
- The Skilled Worker class follows a very similar application pathway. Most of the forms for the International Student classification are the same forms used for the skilled worker class.
- Selkirk College is the local educational institution and lists course information and schedules on their website.
