SKILLED WORKERS

This category is for those not applying through the BC Provincial Nominee Program "Skilled Worker" category. Skilled workers can be defined as people who have professional skills and abilities that are in-demand in the current job market. Many times these workers have job offerings from Canadian companies before they even start the immigration process.

Steps to Take

  • Take the online test to see if you earn a passing score at the CIC website. Skilled workers must earn a passing score on a test matrix where points are awarded for education, language proficiency, work experience, age, arranged employment and adaptability.
  • Do you qualify as a skilled worker? Check to see if you will meet requirements such as having enough funds to settle in Canada, the language requirements, and learn about the six selection factors and point system.
  • Work experience, find out if you have meet the minimum requirements before you submit your application
  • Visit Canada and the community you're interested in.
