Business leaders in Trail and Rossland have created productive partnerships that have contributed to a strong and more prosperous region. With the recent establishment of an agglomeration of big box retailers, the regional market has once again expanded.

Resort development at Rossland's Red Mountain has taken full flight with $1 billion of foreign direct investment expected over the next fifteen years. Cities and Villages in the South Kootenay are working together to ensure a competitive business environment; –an environment which is attractive for new investment, very attractive for businesses to operate and invest, and for people to work and live.
