Festivals & Events

With such strong community involvement and connections it is hardly surprising that there are so many very successful festivals and events over the course of the year. Two festivals with very strong historical ties are Silver City Days in Trail and Golden City Days in Rossland.

Trail events include the popular annual Silver City Days held in the second week of May. The celebrations feature pancake breakfast, bocce tournament, midway and carnival, fireworks display, casino, parade, bavarian gardens and many other events throughout the city. The event lasts for five fun filled days and nights and conclude with a Sunday family day celebration.

Rossland events include Golden City Days. This is an annual event held in September that celebrates the cities rich heritage. During the celebration Rossland reverts back to life in the early 1900's and petticoats, cummerbunds, top-hats, and spats are common atire. Festivities include a parade, pancake breakfasts, wood splitting competition, a slo-pitch tournament, fireworks, barbecue, dances, 10 km run, food booths and more.

The Rossland Mountain Film Festival is November event that features the very best in outdoor extreme sport films as well as independent films from the Kootenays and beyond! Expect to see over 30 hours of film over the 3 day festival.
