This immigration category is for potential immigrants who have a close family member already living in Canada.
The Canadian Citizen or Permanent Resident acts as a Sponsor and is financially responsible for the immigrant for a period of 3 years.
The Sponsor may also adopt a child under 18 and will be financially responsible for a period of 10 years or until the child turns 25 (whichever comes first).
