Community and Economic Development responsibility in the South Kootenay is shared amongst several organizations and groups, including a regional coordinating and information sharing group, the LCCDT (Lower Columbia Community Development Team).

The LCCDT is comprised of some 50 business leaders, municipal politicians and representatives from organisations with a common interest in social and economic development in the Lower Columbia region. Those organizations with an economic/community development emphasis are shown below.
