With sport and community spirit so prevalent in the South Kootenay there are many well run sporting groups and volunteer organizations covering everything from hockey to scrapbooking.

The region is made up of people intensely loyal, community minded, and very generous. They are always ready to assist and support those who are less fortunate. Much of this charity is channeled through service clubs and organizations.
