The Regional Business category is intended to assist people from outside Canada, with proven skills and financial resources, to rapidly implement plans to establish or purchase and expand an eligible business outside of the Greater Vancouver area. Applicants are willing to write a business plan and start and actively manage a business that creates at least 1 new job. At this time, applicants must have a net worth of at least $400,000 Canadian and invest a minimum of $200,000 Canadian (minimum 1/3 equity) in their business. Applicants can buy an existing business, however no more than two thirds of the applicable personal investment can be applied to the business assets.
Use of this category will permit the business owner and their families to live in Canada and work on their business within approximately six months under a 2-year Temporary Work Permit. When the business conditions negotiated by you with the PNP program officer are met, your nomination will be confirmed and the application for Permanent Residency expedited.
