Adil and Saima moved to the South Kootenay from Pakistan

Dr. Saima Memon arrived from Pakistan in 2004 to join her new husband in Trail. she was amazed to see what was known as "an industrial town" looking so green. Saima had seen industrial towns before and expected to see more factories, smog and pollution, "but here, it was totally the contrary."

Because of their lengthy relationship and the fact that they had started the immigration process a year and a half ago, Jawaid said they had no problems getting the proper paperwork for Memon to come to Canada after the wedding. He had also lived in the area for three years prior.
